Two people died, one male sailor and one male civilian suspect, in a shooting that took place Monday night at US Navy’s Naval Station Norfolk, Virginia.
The incident occurred at around 11:20 p.m. at Pier 1. No other injuries have been reported, according to US Navy officials.
The U.S. Navy put the station on lockdown immediately as a precaution measure, which was lifted subsequently. The Navy security forces responded to the incident and secured the scene.
An investigation is underway concerning the details surrounding the shooting.
