USS ARLEIGH BURKE DDG-51
Lockheed Martin has received a 37.13 million contract to incrementally fund the Aegis Platform Systems Engineering Agent (PSEA) activities and Aegis Modernization Advanced Capability Build engineering.
The Aegis PSEA manages in-service combat systems configurations and integration of new or upgraded capability into the US Navy’s CCG57 and DDG51 classes of ships.
The CCG57 is a Ticonderoga-class cruiser, which uses phased-array radar that was originally planned to become a class of destroyers.
Aegis Modernization will provide upgrades to Aegis cruisers and Aegis destroyers and will be applicable to all Aegis ships with a computer program that is backfit compatible to Baseline 2 cruisers.
Lockheed Martin will perform the work in Moorestown, N.J. with expected completion by September 2014.
